Job Summary

AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews/Evaluates/Examines commercial title search documentation and research and assist resolving all title issues and discrepancies on record based on published underwriting standards bulletins and guidelines as requested by client or supervisor.

Prepares and reviews title commitment(s)/pro forma(s) lender closing instructions and contracts to ensure all requirements of the transaction are met.

Insure that title products are completed in a timely manner and are of the highest quality. The examiner should determine order priority the specific needs of our clients and the instructions from their supervisor.

Works collaboratively with all stakeholders including but not limited to internal operations teams underwriting client outside counsel and title agent partners.

Analyze complex contracts and the law to create and administer all necessary processes spreadsheets and tracking based on service needs.

Process and provide support with draw requests and maintain files related to construction.

Assist with legal research preparation of documents and related activities required to support commercial files including e-recording and preparing preliminary instructions for disbursements.

Prepare closing documents; ancillary documents; title related affidavits; pro-forma policies and endorsements.

Attend to title curative matters and identify requirements of survey exceptions.

Prepare and issue final title policies e-recordings and all post closing duties

Provides quality customer service including interacting with customers real estate agents surveyors and attorneys.

Monitors workflow queues and department reports to ensure timely processing of the file through title delivery and closing.

Successfully meets or exceeds all Company established performance/production metrics as set forth by the Senior Management Team.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED required; Baccalaureate degree preferred.

5 years experience in commercial title and closing.

Work under general supervision.

Strong customer service skills required.

National purchase and refinance experience preferred.

Experience utilizing ResWare or similar software preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely present issues ideas and recommendations in verbal written and presentation formats.

Highly motivated inquisitive self-started with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail excellent organizational skills ability to high volume and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
