SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHER The Milwaukee Rescue Mission Cross Trainers Academy (CTA) is a K4-12th grade Christian Academy in the heart of Milwaukee serving students and families who are searching for a strong academic learning experience in a gospel-centered environment.
Cross Trainers Academy will be hosting an academic summer school program for students in grades 6-12. Summer school will run from June 15th - July 23rd (off June 19th & July 2nd). We are seeking Summer School Teachers to instruct middle school and high school students in the subjects of math science reading/English and social studies (based on experience and areas of expertise).
WORK SCHEDULE: Seasonal Position: June 10th through July 23rd 26 hr/week Monday-Thursday 8:00am-2:30pm (Fridays off) - Staff orientation: June 10th & June 11th.
- Summer School runs June 15th - July 23rd (off June 19th & July 2nd)
PAY RATE: $22.50 hourly (6.5 hours per day includes a 30-minute paid lunch period)
LOCATION: North Campus 1530 W. Center Street Milwaukee WI. 53206
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Instruct middle school or high school students in the subjects of math science reading/English and social studies (based on experience and areas of expertise). Grades will be issued in each subject area.
- Create a learning environment that is safe and nurturing
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelors degree required
- Teaching experience at the middle school or high school level
- Academic knowledge in the specific subject(s) to be taught
- A mature Christian with a servants heart who is able to relate well with others in a culturally-diverse population and willing to serve in an urban environment of significant need
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills
- Proven skills in leadership group facilitation communication and data collection
- Patient friendly approachable creative engaging and inspiring
- Ability to work effectively with diverse students and families
- Competent in the following platforms: Word Excel Outlook Gmail Google Drive Google Calendar PowerSchool
- A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian school environment: civil respectful polite and responsive
- Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
- Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
PREFERRED: - WI DPI teacher certification (general education math reading/English science or social studies)
- Experience working in an urban school setting
