Role: Sr. Manager Merchant Risk Strategy & Analytics

Overview

This role is a senior individual contributor within GreenSkys Merchant Risk Strategy team. The Senior Merchant Risk Manager is responsible for leading complex analytical initiatives focused on high-risk merchants developing data-driven strategies to protect portfolio health and influencing risk and business decisions across the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead identification of merchant risk trends and opportunities using advanced predictive analytics
  • Design and implement strategic and tactical risk solutions to optimize portfolio performance
  • Provide analytical leadership across performance management risk exposure control early-warning detection profitability optimization and growth initiatives
  • Develop and enhance predictive decisioning rules that balance risk customer experience and merchant experience
  • Conduct complex quantitative analyses on large multi-source datasets with minimal oversight
  • Partner with Product Operations Finance Compliance and Technology teams to drive alignment and execution
  • Research industry trends and competitor practices; synthesize insights and present recommendations to senior management
  • Clearly communicate analytical findings and strategic recommendations in both written and verbal formats
  • Define own and report on key risk and performance KPIs
  • Serve as a trusted subject-matter expert within Merchant Risk Strategy

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative field
  • 5 years of experience in a relevant analytical or quantitative role within Risk Management at a financial services organization
  • Advanced proficiency working with large datasets using SQL Python R or similar programming languages
  • Working knowledge of Tableau or comparable data visualization tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Experience in Credit Risk Fraud Risk or Merchant Risk Strategy within financial services

Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this role ranges from $110000 per year to $145000 per year. Compensation will be determined by several factors including relevant knowledge skills and experience. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus within a comprehensive total rewards package alongside a full suite of medical dental vision disability insurance life insurance 401k retirement benefits paid time off paid holidays and paid personal/sick time.
