Position Summary:
The Radiation Therapist Registered delivers safe accurate and timely radiation treatments as prescribed by the radiation oncologist. This role prepares and positions patients operates linear accelerators and related equipment and verifies treatment parameters to ensure each session is delivered with the highest level of precision and care. Working as part of a closely coordinated radiation oncology team the Therapist collaborates with medical physics nursing and support staff to maintain efficient patient-centered treatment workflows. The position functions within a supportive team-oriented environment where communication shared accountability and attention to detail are essential. Through strong clinical judgment technical expertise and compassionate patient interaction the Radiation Therapist contributes to optimal therapeutic outcomes and a safe respectful treatment setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer external beam radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions and treatment plans while ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.
- Prepare position and monitor patients during treatment sessions adjusting techniques as needed to ensure accurate beam delivery and patient comfort.
- Operate and maintain linear accelerators imaging systems and associated equipment reporting malfunctions and participating in quality assurance procedures.
- Review treatment schedules verify documentation and confirm treatment parameters prior to daily delivery to support accuracy and continuity of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures address concerns and reinforce safety and comfort throughout treatment.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists medical physicists nurses and other team members to support treatment planning workflow optimization and coordinated patient care.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- ARRT registered or registry pending in Radiation Therapy
- BLS Certification preferred but not required
- NDMIRTBE licensed prior to start of employment

- Must be able to work under stress
- Must be diligent in working for accuracy
- Ability to utilize / operate 2 different linear accelerators
