Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager Financial Planning and Analysis the Financial Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions for the hospitals programs and to provide monthly analysis reconciliation and reporting of hospital accounts. The role also supports month end close procedures annual processes of the external audit and the preparation of timely account reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.

Accountabilities:

  • Preparation of month end reporting information including but not limited to preparation of revenue reports posting of required adjusting journal entries and analysis of variances month-to-month and actual to plan 
  • Preparation of account and sub-ledger reconciliations to ensure quality control and accuracy of accounting records
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring completeness data integrity and accuracy
  • Support the preparation of monthly and ad-hoc financial statements analysis of results and variances
  • Meet external financial reporting commitments. This includes completion of provincial reporting including budget quarterly forecast and year-end settlements within the deadlines set by the various Ministries or Ontario Health
  • Support quarterly and annual financial and statistical reporting both internally as well as externally
  • Assist with queries on financial and business transaction processes and procedures in line with the relevant policies of the organization
  • Assist with year-end audit requirements
  • Provide recommendations on internal control enhancements as related to financial transactions records preparation and account reconciliations
  • Maintain the financial system dictionaries and reports to ensure the integrity of the financial information reported to end users
  • General tasks throughout the month including data input communications etc.
  • Assistance with ad-hoc Finance projects related to programs being supported as required

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in accounting and financial analysis
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or a related field
  • Enrolment in a professional accounting designation program preferred
  • Highly motivated customer focused team player
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of full suite of Microsoft office programs (including Excel Word and Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through financial transactions
  • Strong aptitude for analysis of data with the ability to identify trends and recommend actions to enable decision making
  • Must demonstrate Oslers Values of Respect Excellence Service Compassion Innovation and Collaboration
  • Exercise care and due diligence in handling confidential patient information
  • Ability to work as a team player within a dynamic environment
  • Meditech system experience is an asset
  • Required to travel between Osler sites

Additional Information :

Hours: Currently days (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

This is a Remote First role: Roles that can function primarily remotely but require essential occasional onsite work. Must be resident of Ontario.

Salary:
Minimum: $79521.00 annual
Maximum: $99391.50 annual
