These national programmes have a wide range of internal and external customers and stakeholders many of whom are represented on the governance advisory and supporting groups. These programmes deliver and support a range of new and evolving services and establishes and operates a number of technology related contractual arrangements for its growing customer and user base. This includes Glow the national online platform for education. This is a fast moving and exciting area of work which offers lots of opportunity for working across many digital services and technologies.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Leading the provision of advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards
  • Leading penetration testing security risk assessments and business impact analysis on information systems
  • Interpret information assurance and security policies and applies these in order to manage risks
  • Provide advice and guidance to ensure adoption of and adherence to information assurance architectures strategies policies standards and guidelines
  • Threat Identification and Risk Management
  • Security Project Design Procurement and Implementation
  • Third Party Oversight
  • Development delivery and monitoring compliance of Security Awareness campaigns
  • Providing consultancy on projects
  • Development of Information Security policies procedures and guidelines and managing compliance
  • Supporting and developing the Information Security Management system
  • Incident Response
  • Leading and mentoring junior members of security staff

The Information and Cyber Security Officer will help to maintain the desired cyber security posture in line with our risk appetite. They will have experience of developing an Information Security Management system within a fast paced environment.

This role is a permanent level transfer position.
