Senior Instructor RMI

The Baldwin Group School of Risk Management and Insurance at the Muma College of Business University of South Florida invites applications for a Senior Instructor in Risk Management and Insurance. The school operates on all three campuses of USF (Tampa St. Petersburg Sarasota-Manatee) and this position will be housed in the Muma College of Business on the Tampa campus. As needed the successful candidate will support the schools teaching mission at the coastal campuses. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Risk Management and Insurance Actuarial Science or a related field or an equivalent degree (e.g. J.D. DBA) from a university accredited in that field or expect to complete a Ph.D. (or J.D. or DBA) prior to the start date or a hold a masters degree in risk management and insurance or a related field with significant relevant professional work experience.

The Baldwin Group School of Risk Management and Insurance isone of three programs in the State of Florida to offer degree programs in risk management and insurance. It is one of the few named schools of risk management and insurance in the country and is the fastest-growing program in risk management and insurance in the addition to strong financial support from industry the school also benefits from the support of an experienced and active Risk Advisory Council. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in risk management and insurance at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate should have significant experience in program development and student professional development and have experience with non-degree certification programs executive education and center operation and addition candidates should demonstrate a willingness and ability to maintain certification as a Scholarly Academic or Practice Academic under AACSB guidelines. This is a full-time 9-month position. Compensation for summer courses when scheduled is in addition to the base salary.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Holds a Masters degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise meets university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
2. Meets or can meet the Colleges criteria for AACSB Scholarly Practitioner or Instructional Practitioner designation.
3. Demonstrates significant teaching experience in risk management and insurance at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Significant professional work experience in the risk management and insurance or related field.
2. Significant experience in program development and student professional development
3. Experience in executive education non-degree certification programs and center operation and management.
4. Meets or can meet the Colleges criteria for AACSB Scholarly Academic or Practice Academic designation.

2. Expectation that the candidate will be collegial.
3. Reputation of program granting the candidates degree.
