Position: School Nurse
Location: Aurora Heights Elementary School
Qualifications: Valid State of Iowa license to practice as a Registered Nurse

Job Goal: To provide the fullest possible educational opportunity for each district student and staff member by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the district schools.

Qualifications:

Maintains current Registered Nursing license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa.
Must have the following current certifications:
- CPR/AED
- Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training Certificate

Responsibilities:

Ability to work effectively and patiently with elementary students (grades PK-4).
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
Capable of representing the school in a professional manner which includes but not limited to confidentiality communication skills and dress.
Maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with student privacy laws and district policies.
Demonstrates professionalism a positive demeanor and the ability to interact effectively with students staff and families.
Exercises sound judgment and decision-making in a variety of school health situations.
Demonstrates accuracy and strong attention to detail in maintaining health records documentation and reporting.
Represents the school and district in a professional manner including maintaining confidentiality demonstrating effective communication skills and adhering to professional standards of appearance and conduct.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistent support for student health needs.
