Intermediate District 287 is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Supports. The Assistant Directorleads district-wide coordination of mental health social-emotional learning (SEL) chemical health and restorative practices to support student well-being and success. This role collaborates with School Social Workers Counselors and school-based mental health providers to align services across schools and manages partnerships with community agencies and consultants to ensure integrated student supports.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a key member of district and building student support health and safety crisis response and multidisciplinary (e.g. 360) teams
- Provide leadership in the research implementation and continuous improvement of evidence-based practices in social-emotional learning (SEL) mental health restorative practices trauma-informed care and behavioral interventions across the district
- Support and supervise coordinators and clinical staff in areas such as restorative practices chemical health SEL and specialized programs including providing clinical supervision for school social workers as assigned
- Lead and support district-wide initiatives including trauma-informed practices implementation restorative justice programming grant-funded projects and crisis preparedness (e.g. PREPaRE teams) in collaboration with district leadership
- Coordinate and oversee the school-based delivery model of mental health services in partnership with community agencies consultants and co-located providers; serve as liaison to external partners
- Provide crisis leadership and support; respond to crises; conduct or support suicide and threat assessments; debrief incidents; and guide post-crisis planning
- Assist in planning and delivering professional development on mental health assessment restorative practices trauma-informed care student behavior support and staff and student safety
- Partner with administrators and school teams to foster positive safe and affirming school environments and to address complex student needs (e.g. truancy bullying chemical health violence suicide risk self-injurious behavior abuse/neglect teen pregnancy and school safety concerns)
- Collect analyze and interpret relevant data (e.g. behavioral incidents restrictive procedures critical incidents and other student support data) to evaluate program effectiveness and guide decision-making
- Revise and support implementation of multidisciplinary team processes (e.g. 360 team planning) across sites
- Ensure appropriate documentation and communication regarding significant student behavioral or safety concerns
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Supports.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Advanced Degree in Social Work.
- Minimum of 3 years in Education Administration Mental Health Administration or a combination.
- Licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by Minnesota Board of Social Work and is an approved clinical supervisor.
- Licensed as a Director of Special Education.
