Position SummaryServe as a Curriculum Design Consultant at the Center for Teaching and Learning to support the design or refresh of online synchronous asynchronous and hybrid courses taught at Sacred Heart collaboration with program faculty and information technology (IT) provide subject-matter-informed recommendations on course structure sequencing assessment strategy and instructional design to ensure academic rigor coherence and student success within a compressed delivery model. This is a remote-based project-specific position reporting to the Associate Director of Teaching Duties & ResponsibilitiesAnalyze existing online and hybrid courses and recommend structural revisions to align with program design goals while maintaining rigor meeting academic standards and fostering a learning environment that promotes student evidence-based strategies for course pacing workload calibration and cognitive load management across course modalities and assessment strategies and provide recommendations to ensure alignment with program outcomes and feasibility within course development or revision of instructional materials and course templates as needed to support course with other CTL team members program leadership and IT to ensure consistency accessibility and effective LMS to a phased redesign roadmap aligned with the programs rollout in regular project meetings and provide written recommendations and documentation where duties as Skills Abilities & Other DutiesRequired: Earned graduate degree in a curricularly relevant academic discipline instructional design educational technology or related field Experience in instructional design and/or faculty development within an institution of higher education Experience working in Learning Management Systems (LMS)Preferred Experience working with Blackboard Ultra Teaching experience as the instructor of record in higher educationKnowledge: Principles and methods of curriculum design (backward design alignment learning outcomes assessment instructional activities) Universal Design for Learning and inclusive teaching practicesSkills: Collaborative consultation with faculty and cross-functional teams Curriculum development and analysis Effective assessment design Effective facilitation skills for project discussionsAbilities Excellent project management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail
