Job Summary

PRIMARY ROLE

The Associate will be responsible for engineering and operations of professional video systems including recording camera LED wall projection switching setup/teardown and maintenance of video equipment inside our shop and at live events. This professional will have a successful record of accomplishment in all technical aspects of video production for events meetings concerts corporate theater and provide daily assistance to the video rental and production department. Computer and Networking knowledge is required. The Associate must work at a timely pace with projects to ensure quality outcome and keep up-to-date records for time utilized. Requires excellent customer-service skills. This position will also require working with other departments within the Rental and Production division.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all day-to-day video technician duties within the Rental and Production Department. Position requires ability to multi-task numerous tasks working under deadlines.
  • Serve onsite as V1 V2 Video Utility Lead Technician or as assigned
  • Provide technical leadership for corporate meetings hybrid events and live productions
  • Design configure and operate professional video systems including switching routing projection LED walls cameras playback and recording systems
  • Assist in operation of related media materials for video audio photographic slides and multimedia applications (such as PowerPoint).
  • Prepare video systems assist with check in/out loading and unloading transport setup operation and tear down of all equipment for all events assigned.
  • Supervise and delegate video staging and related technical tasks to staff and freelance crew in accordance with event scope and timelines
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients project managers internal teams and vendors via email phone and in person
  • Make real-time technical decisions that impact show flow system performance and client experience
  • Troubleshoot complex video signal hardware software and network issues under time-sensitive conditions
  • Maintain broad working knowledge across all AV disciplines to support integrated event solutions
  • Recommend equipment and technology purchases to support system performance advancement and standardization
  • Assist warehouse staff to assure the proper amount of equipment is sent to each event in suitable working condition.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of all equipment for Company events.
  • Train and mentor staff on equipment workflows and manufacturer platforms
  • Maintain schedules tasks meetings and event activities using Outlook or equivalent tools
  • Manage multiple events and resources simultaneously through effective planning and organization
  • Represent the organization professionally in client-facing environments
  • Maintain a positive solutions-oriented approach in high-pressure situations
  • Work nights weekends and extended hours as required by event schedules
  • Travel to event and corporate locations as required
  • Ability to climb and work (hang screens/projectors adjust and repair) at heights in excess of 30 before during and after performances.
  • Troubleshoot Maintain and repair specialized and standardized video equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager to meet business needs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a four-year degree in Video Production education OR equal on the job experience.
  • 5 Years minimum experience or combination of training and/or education in Video as it relates to live performance.
  • In depth understanding of video camera operation and related technology operation of video switchers with the ability to use and understand various kinds of test equipment tools and meters.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with live video production streaming solutions and playback software including:
    • Ross Dashboard Barco Event Master Christie Spyder or Analog Way Aquilon
    • Wirecast Zoom Microsoft Teams Cisco WebEx and Google Meet
    • Millumin Mitti Playback Pro
    • ProPresenter PowerPoint Keynote
  • Comprehensive knowledge broadcast camera systems and basic camera engineering
  • Strong understanding of SDI-based video workflows
  • Extensive understanding of IP-based networking
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles stage plots and basic computer literacy is required.
  • Knowledge of audio as it relates to video and know the audio path with live audio / sound reinforcement experience.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills superior analytical communicative and creative problem-solving proficiencies to evaluate and solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Candidate must currently have a valid and current drivers license and obtain a valid and current DOT medical card for operation of commercial vehicles
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Office Inventory Management Software and MS Teams
  • Valid and current drivers license.

PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate is required to stand walk climb sit and use hands and fingers.
  • Climb and work at height in excess of 30 feet.
  • Lifting of objects is required.
  • Reaching grasping and carrying activities also required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Although most work is performed inside occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
