This role bridges engineering sales and operations by translating customer and project requirements into practical manufacturable solutions within our waterworks plumbing mining and fire protection activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application & Technical Support
- Review project specifications drawings and customer requirements to recommend appropriate valve and system configurations.
- Support waterworks plumbing mining commercial fire protection and special hazard applications with technically sound code-aware solutions.
- Serve as a technical resource for sales representatives customers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead technical trainings including the development of professional presentations speaking in classroom environments and hands on engineering sessions.
Engineering & Documentation:
- Apply hydraulic and mechanical principles to configure valve assemblies and systems.
- Full Engineering support to the production floor including development and validation of accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and complete job packets for production.
- Prepare submittals technical documentation and application-specific support materials.
- Ensure designs are practical manufacturable and aligned with Company standards.
Cross-Functional Execution:
- Interface directly with production operations and supply chain to support order execution.
- Address technical questions during assembly and resolve application-related issues.
- Support engineering clarification and troubleshooting as projects move through production from the projects early stages through post-sales support.
Customer Engagement:
- Participate in customer meetings technical discussions and training as needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with both internal and external customers.
- Build credibility through responsiveness technical competence and follow-through.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- 24 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience or exposure to waterworks fire protection or special hazard systems.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic mechanics and mechanical assemblies.
- High level proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in CAD design software such as Auto CAD and Solidworks
- Experience creating BOMs job packets and production-ready documentation.
- Comfortable in customer-facing roles both internal and external.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Commercial fire protection application and relevant code experience preferred.
- Familiarity with valves control systems or pressure-regulating equipment.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
