Java Developer

Due to the secure nature of the programme you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. Our teams operate within a flexible hybrid working model however on-site requirements vary by project so the ability to travel as required to meet client needs is essential.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In this role you will design build and enhance scalable Java applications that meet evolving client requirements. Youll work as part of an Agile delivery team contributing to technical design discussions implementing robust solutions and ensuring high standards of quality through testing and code reviews. You will take responsibility for key components collaborate closely with architects business analysts and testers and actively contribute ideas that improve performance maintainability and user experience.

Youll play an important part in delivering successful outcomes for our clients while continuing to develop your own expertise. Supported by experienced colleagues youll grow your technical capability contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help foster a collaborative forward-thinking team environment.

Key responsibilities:

Develop & Deliver high-quality Java applications using Spring Boot
Collaborate & Contribute to solution design and Agile ceremonies
Build & Enhance RESTful APIs and scalable microservices
Review & Improve code quality through testing and peer reviews
Integrate & Support solutions across the software development lifecycle
Engage & Align with stakeholders to support business objectives
Learn & Grow through continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You should have solid experience in Java development and be comfortable contributing to the design and delivery of enterprise applications. Youll combine strong technical skills with a collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate effectively within a team-oriented client-focused environment.

Essential qualifications:

Proven experience in Java development (Java 8 or higher)
Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and RESTful API development
Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as Jira Confluence and Git
Good understanding of software engineering best practices and testing approaches
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable qualifications:

Experience in IT consulting or client-facing environments
Knowledge of AWS Azure or GCP
Familiarity with Docker Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
Exposure to microservices architecture and API integration
