Quantitative Analyst Commodity Pricing & Position Management Toronto CA
A leading financial institution is seeking a Quantitative Analyst (Strat) to design build and maintain models and tools used for commodity pricing and position management.
This is a front-office aligned role working closely with trading and risk teams to develop quantitative solutions that directly support trading decisions and market analysis.
The position will initially focus and Excel-based model development with the opportunity to collaborate with engineering teams to transition these tools into scalable web-based applications.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of quantitative finance software development and trading technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and -based mathematical finance libraries for commodity pricing models.
- Build and maintain Excel-based pricing models and position tracking tools used by trading desks.
- Utilize internal engineering frameworks to build web-based or GUI applications supporting trading activity.
- Automate data workflows and integrate internal and external market data sources.
- Collaborate closely with traders risk managers and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Ensure quantitative tools are robust scalable and aligned with trading strategies and risk policies.
- Document models workflows and application architecture.
Experience
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Physics Engineering Computer Science Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
- 2 years of experience in a quant strat or quantitative developer role within commodities or a related asset class.
- Strong understanding of commodity markets and pricing methodologies.
- Advanced Excel skills (including VBA).
- Programming experience in Python or C#.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
This role is based in Toronto Ontario Canada with a lucrative salary paying up to $160000 CAD Base.
