About the Project

The Eastern Busway is a significant project that is about more than just better transport. It will increase access to jobs and education connect people to social and community opportunities attract investment and growth enable urban development and help reduce emissions. Its efficient services will give nearby communities some great options for cycling walking or using the bus and it will be a vital part of the public transport network in Tāmaki Makaurau for decades to come.

About the Opportunity

As Traffic Manager you will lead planning and delivery of temporary traffic management across the Eastern Busway works ensuring safe efficient movement for road users buses pedestrians and cyclists in a live urban environment. You will own the strategy for traffic staging approvals and interfaces working closely with construction design stakeholder and client teams. You will guide a small team and key suppliers to deliver compliant practical solutions that minimise disruption while keeping the project on track.

What are the key accountabilities for the position

• Develop and implement project wide traffic management strategy
• Lead preparation and review of traffic management plans and CTMPs
• Coordinate approvals with client council and key authorities
• Optimise staging to balance safety access and construction needs
• Oversee traffic management suppliers and on site performance
• Monitor network impacts adjust layouts and resolve issues early
• Provide traffic input to design program and stakeholder engagement

Required Skills and Competencies

• 10 years proven traffic management experience on major infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand traffic management standards
• Background in civil transport or road construction projects
• Ability to lead suppliers and influence diverse stakeholders
• Relevant tertiary or technical qualification in a related field
