Job Summary
Intramural Sports Coordinators plan and lead intramural sports leagues train & evaluate sports officials promote leagues lead Captains meetings and more. Work spaces are the Beauchamp Recreation & Wellness Center and indoor and outdoor university sports facilities. Hours are generally between 9:00AM and 11:00PM on weekdays and some meetings and supervision on Sundays. Shifts are generally 1-5 hours. Position begins in spring and runs through fall and spring semesters of the following academic year.
Minimum Qualifications
This is a highly active position that requires a mature and responsible individual with work experience. Strong interest in sports Abilities and knowledge of at least 2 of the major sports: soccer basketball football volleyball softball team handball Positive and upbeat personality reliable Excellent communication skills Available multiple days each week. Leagues run Sunday Thursday afternoons & evenings. CPR /First Aid certification required within three weeks of hire date (offered by department)
Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience with the University of Portland Intramural Sports program as an employee or participant; experience at another university or recreation district may be substituted for this experience Sports officiating experience Sports league scheduling experience Proficiency in Excel and Word programs Students with Federal Work Study in Financial Aid package
