JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The J. Jeffrey and Ann Marie Fox Graduate Schools Office of Graduate Educational Engagement Programs (OGEEP) supports a wide range of co-curricular initiatives designed to enhance the graduate student experience at Penn State. Our mission is to provide academic professional and personal development opportunities that complement and enrich the formal graduate curriculum.

We are currently seeking a graduate student from Penn States University Park campus to serve as the Graduate Programming Assistant for the academic year. This is a half-time graduate assistantship. The assistant will work closely with and report directly to the Associate Dean for Graduate Education and will periodically engage with OGEEP senior staff to support the planning execution and assessment of OGEEPs co-curricular programming.

The Graduate Programming Assistant will support the development and delivery of professional development workshops co-curricular educational opportunities and academic support initiatives. Responsibilities include assisting in event planning and execution coordinating supply and catering orders collaborating with graduate faculty and campus partners and supporting logistical tasks across OGEEP initiatives. Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining Canvas course sites developing and administering evaluations coordinating surveys for participants and faculty involved in OGEEP programming and helping to track the academic and professional outcomes of graduate student participants and alumni engaged with OGEEP initiatives.

Qualified applicants will have prior experience supporting educational programming professional development or student engagement initiatives; experience working with graduate students in an advising mentoring or programmatic capacity; and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty students and staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Prior experience with Canvas survey design or program assessment is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in graduate student affairs and a commitment to enhancing the co-curricular graduate student experience.

Compensation:
This is a half-time graduate assistantship. The position will be hired at Penn State grade 18 for candidates currently enrolled in a doctoral program and at grade 16 for candidates enrolled in a masters program. Final grade assignment is based on current enrollment status and qualifications at the time of hire.
