The Performing Arts Technician will ensure that equipment is prepared organised and maintained so that staff and students can focus on creative work and performance development.

The role will involve working closely with teaching staff students and other technical support colleagues to ensure that performances and lessons run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare performance spaces and rehearsal studios for lessons and productions
Maintain stage lighting sound systems and theatre equipment
Support teachers during practical drama and performing arts lessons
Assist students with technical aspects of stage production
Operate lighting and sound equipment during rehearsals and performances
Organise and maintain inventories of technical theatre equipment
Ensure equipment is stored safely and remains in good working condition
Assist with set construction stage preparation and prop organisation
Support school productions concerts and performance events
Help coordinate technical rehearsals and stage setups
Provide technical assistance during performances and events
Maintain theatre spaces so that they remain organised and ready for use

Candidate Profile

The school is seeking a candidate who has both technical knowledge and enthusiasm for supporting creative arts education.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Experience working with theatre lighting and sound systems
Knowledge of stage production processes and technical theatre
Strong organisational skills when managing equipment and rehearsal spaces
Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues
Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and students
