Under the general supervision of the Building and Grounds Supervisor the Facilities Technician II is responsible for the care and routine preventive maintenance of campus lawn spaces. This role includes completing minor repairs on grounds equipment and supporting landscape construction projects which may involve reading landscape plans or design instructions. The position also sets up and maintains temporary irrigation systems as needed throughout campus.
Key responsibilities include turf fertilization pest management and accurate recordkeeping related to these applications. The role also covers lawn treatments such as herbicides fertilizers compost applications and aeration for both campus and offsite locations. The Facilities Technician II helps establish new lawn areas through seeding and sodding and assists with mowing as needed. This position is essential to maintaining and watering campus lawn spacesprimarily with hoseend sprinkler applicationsand plays a critical role in winter snow removal on the UWMadison campus.

Hours generally scheduled Monday- Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm. Occasional nights weekends and holidays may be required for this position. Work is performed onsite.

The minimum rate for this position is $23/hr but it is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
