Job Summary
The Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support in a healthcare setting ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting healthcare providers with patient examinations performing clinical procedures and supporting front office operations.
The Medical Assistant works closely with physicians nurses and administrative staff to ensure a positive patient experience while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients and assist with patient intake and rooming procedures.
Record vital signs medical history and patient information in the electronic medical record system.
Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures for laboratory testing.
Administer vaccinations and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
Assist providers during patient examinations and minor procedures.
Schedule patient appointments and manage clinic calendars.
Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional manner.
Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Ensure exam rooms and clinical areas are properly stocked sanitized and prepared for patient visits.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to maintain efficient clinic operations.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (in addition to externship).
Experience with phlebotomy and venipuncture.
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Strong communication organizational and computer skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred.
Experience working in Occupational Health settings preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient care and health education.
