Overview
A financial services organization based in Chicago is seeking a Senior Manager Mortgage Business & Transaction Management to oversee complex mortgage-related transactions and strategic business initiatives.
This role manages the end-to-end execution of mortgage and capital markets transactions ensuring activities are completed accurately efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulatory and operational requirements. The position works closely with internal stakeholders external partners and legal teams to coordinate due diligence contract negotiation approvals and closing activities.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in mortgage or structured finance transactions strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Transaction Management

Manage end-to-end transaction execution including planning due diligence documentation approvals and closing activities.

Review and negotiate contracts purchase and sale agreements and related transaction documentation.

Track transaction timelines milestones and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
Risk & Compliance Oversight

Identify potential transaction risks and work with internal teams to resolve issues.
-
Ensure transaction structures and documentation align with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
-
Coordinate with legal compliance and finance teams to maintain appropriate governance and documentation.
Stakeholder Coordination

Serve as a key point of contact between internal teams external partners and legal counsel during transaction execution.

Facilitate communication among business operations legal and finance stakeholders.

Provide guidance and support throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Strategic Initiatives

Lead or support strategic initiatives related to mortgage programs and portfolio activities.

Identify opportunities to improve transaction workflows and operational efficiency.

Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and program enhancements.
Cross-Functional Leadership

Lead complex processes and cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.

Provide subject matter expertise related to mortgage transaction structures and execution processes.

Support collaboration across business risk legal and operational teams.
Qualifications Education
Experience
-
10 years of experience in transaction management deal execution or financial operations

Experience working with mortgage-related financial transactions
-
Experience with securitization whole loan sales or mortgage servicing rights transactions
-
3 years of leadership experience directing major processes or cross-functional initiatives
Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of mortgage markets structured finance or loan transaction processes

Experience reviewing and negotiating financial contracts and transaction documentation

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
