We are seeking a Product Engineer or Senior Product Engineer with bearing design experience to join our engineering team in Plymouth Michigan.
This role is responsible for analyzing bearing geometry performing engineering calculations developing test plans and supporting product validation. The engineer will work closely with application engineering testing teams and customers to ensure bearing products meet performance and technical requirements.
This is a key technical role supporting the design validation and development of bearing products used across automotive and industrial applications.

- Base Salary: $95000 $140000 (depending on experience)

We are seeking a Product Engineer or Senior Product Engineer with bearing design experience to join our engineering team in Plymouth Michigan.
This role is responsible for analyzing bearing geometry performing engineering calculations developing test plans and supporting product validation. The engineer will work closely with application engineering testing teams and customers to ensure bearing products meet performance and technical requirements.
This is a key technical role supporting the design validation and development of bearing products used across automotive and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Analysis & Product Development
- Perform engineering analysis of bearings and surrounding systems including calculations and validation studies.
- Prepare technical reports for internal teams and customers.
- Develop and review bearing recommendations based on application requirements.
- Create and execute test plans to validate product performance.
- Create and revise 3D solid models and detailed engineering drawings.
- Develop drawing tolerance schemes stack-up analysis and tolerance variation studies.
- Support design for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Interface directly with application engineering testing and design teams to clarify modeling drawing and technical requirements.
- Review customer drawings and specifications to ensure all technical requirements are captured.
- Support sample requests and product validation activities.
- Maintain and operate CAD software and engineering systems including:
- SolidWorks
- CATIA
- MASTA
- Romax
- MESYS
- BeaPro
- Administer CAD systems and ensure compliance with customer CAD and data exchange requirements.
- Coordinate outsourced product engineering CAD activities as needed.
- Support or perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as needed.
- Collaborate with testing teams to support bearing validation and product performance testing.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in bearing design product engineering or mechanical component design
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks CATIA or similar)
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience performing engineering calculations and technical analysis
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Experience working with bearing design or bearing analysis tools
- Familiarity with MASTA Romax MESYS or similar drivetrain/bearing analysis software
- Experience supporting product validation testing and design verification
- Automotive industrial equipment or mechanical component design experience
