EAD supports clients projects on hundreds of systems in industrial manufacturing facilities specializing in food processing pharmaceutical manufacturing and parcel handling. This opportunity will enable you to enjoy a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes and complexities.

EAD is looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer to assist in providing engineering support for various industrial and commercial projects including: engineering calculations power distribution lighting design controls design and power analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and modify drawings specifications calculations charts and graphs and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes accepted engineering practices and EAD standards
  • Electrical design with primary responsibilities of power lighting and grounding per client requirements
  • Provide studies of power quality short circuit coordination and arc flash hazard analysis
  • Development of capital expenditure cost estimates for design/build projects
  • Coordinating with other internal team members on multi-discipline projects which often includes architects mechanical process civil and structural engineers
  • Work with designers and drafters to produce detailed designs
  • Resolve design and development problems
  • Work with a team to deliver quality construction documentation specifications schematics power and lighting plans one-lines etc.
  • Interface with clients utility companies construction administrators project team and vendors
  • Participate in discipline-specific and company-wide business development
  • Perform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team to produce the highest level of quality
  • Responsible for adhering to all EADs safety standards and practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 6 years experience in electrical design of industrial and commercial projects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer certification
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Knowledge of the NEC NFPA and IEEE standards
  • Possess organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and in-house support staff
  • Proficient with Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Possess and able to maintain a valid drivers license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Working Conditions:

  • Office plant or client site environment*
  • Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions
  • May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Office Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals*
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*
  • Periodic weekend holiday or evening work as needed
  • Travel and/or field experience required

*EAD will provide training administrative/engineering controls and personal protective equipment as necessary.
