As a Tax Intern at PwC Malaysia you will gain handson experience supporting various teams across our Tax practice. Your placement will be determined based on your background interests and business requirements at the time of onboarding. You will work alongside experienced professionals on real client engagements helping businesses understand and manage their tax responsibilities in an increasingly complex environment.
This internship provides exposure to both Tax Advisory and Tax Compliance as well as specialised areas such as Transfer Pricing Indirect Tax EInvoicing and International Tax.
1. Tax Compliance
- Assist in preparing corporate and individual tax computations
- Support the filing of tax returns and compliance documentation
- Review client documents for completeness and accuracy
- Conduct basic tax research and maintain working paper.
2. Tax Advisory
- Research tax legislation incentives and regulatory updates
- Support advisory engagements related to restructuring planning and transactions
- Assist with drafting advisory reports and client presentations
- Analyse tax implications of business structures and activities
3. Transfer Pricing
- Support preparation of TP documentation
- Conduct benchmarking and functional analysis
- Assist with OECD/local TP research
4. Capital Allowance
- Support the review of capital expenditure
- Assist in calculating qualifying expenditure and schedules
- Verify project documents and prepare supporting summaries
5. Indirect Tax (SST/GST/EInvoicing)
- Assist with SST/GST research reconciliations and compliance checks
- Support einvoicing implementation work (data gathering testing documentation)
- Help prepare indirect tax analysis or advisory materials
6. Personal Tax
- Assist with individual tax filings and employerrelated reporting
- Help prepare income summaries and supporting schedules
- Conduct research on personal tax rulings
7. Accounting Solutions & Bookkeeping
- Support basic bookkeeping tasks and data entry
- Assist with monthly accounts preparation
- Help review supporting documents for accuracy
8. International Tax & M&A
- Assist with crossborder tax research and treaty analysis
- Support due diligence tasks and documentation
- Help prepare summaries and technical notes for M&A tax matters
9. Tax Reporting & Strategy
- Assist teams in gathering financial data for tax reporting
- Support tax provision calculations and reconciliations
- Help improve reporting processes and internal workflows
