About You
The Senior Business Product Owner for Academic Resource Planning will take the lead in building a more consistent compliant and transparent approach to academic workforce planning across RMIT. Working within the START Program this role supports how the university plans and allocates work for academics strengthens payment accuracy and helps ensure academic resource planning requirements are met for both permanent and casual staff. You will be stepping into a function that is evolving and would benefit from clearer governance improved processes and a more unified way of working.
This role is ideal for someone with deep academic workforce planning expertise who can engage confidently with colleges schools and senior leaders to lift planning rigour while also translating requirements into a fitforpurpose technical solution. You will work closely with the leads across the START Program operational HR and academic units to align expectations improve compliance with enterprise agreement obligations and create a future state planning model that the university can rely on. This is an opportunity to take real ownership during a period of transformation and help design practices that will influence how RMIT manages academic work for years to come.
To be successful in this position youll have:
Demonstrated expertise in workforce planning within a complex tertiary environment.
Strong experience in business analysis and process improvement with the ability to translate operational requirements into system configuration and workflows.
Proven ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently balancing priorities and delivering to deadlines.
Strong ability to represent and advocate for consistent business needs particularly in relation to HR processes workforce planning and regulatory or compliance requirements.
High-level analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to assess complex issues evaluate options and recommend practical solutions.
Proven stakeholder engagement and consultation skills demonstrating strength in engaging and collaborating with educators professional and technical teams and driving consensus across diverse interests.
Demonstrated commitment to service excellence continuous improvement and delivering a high-quality staff and student experience.
