About the role

The Senior Finance Officer Accounting Operations assists in the implementation and provision of operational Systems processes and procedures to effectively deliver financial and accounting services to TAFE NSW.

This role is a highly technical role and supports TAFENSW with Finance Systems and reporting requirements.

This is a hybrid role where you will be required to attend Kingswood Campus one day a week to meet with the broader team.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with solid experience in Finance Systems including Budgeting and Forecasting processes along with strong capability in maintaining and enhancing Financial Reporting Systems. You will bring handson experience supporting users in SAP (preferably S/4HANA) particularly across core finance modules and an ability to troubleshoot issues resolve system queries and optimise functional usage across the organisation.

You will also have demonstrated experience working across multiple finance systemsunderstanding integrations data flows reconciliations and endtoend process impacts. Your ability to analyse system behaviour identify enhancement opportunities and contribute to continuous process improvement will be critical to your success.

In addition the successful candidate will bring strong proficiency in Microsoft products including advanced Excel for financial modelling and analysis as well as the ability to utilise tools such as Power BI SharePoint Teams and Power Automate to streamline workflows and improve reporting outcomes.

You will be independent outcomedriven and comfortable working in a fastpaced environment with competing priorities. Strong communication skills stakeholder engagement experience and the ability to translate technical concepts into clear businessfocused language are essential.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a highly organised individual with great attention to detail and communication skills. You will also need to meet the below Essential Requirements:

  1. Diploma Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Accounting Finance or related field or equivalent knowledge skills and experience.
  2. Working knowledge and experience of appropriate finance systems for the purposes of processing financial transactions and reporting.
  3. Sound knowledge and experience of Government financial and accounting policies and procedures including an understanding of Accrual Accounting guidelines Treasurers Directions Public Finance and Audit Act.
  4. Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
