Join us as a Foreperson in our Milling and Grooving team in Christchurch!

As a foreperson in our Milling and Grooving team you will lead a crew to deliver work for our customers safety on time and to the highest quality standard. You will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations including the coordination of all employees and plant resources in your area of control.

Our milling team operates a range of Bobcat skid steer loaders and Wirtgen milling machines as well as our own uniquely designed and built safety grooving machines. We complete work for internal and external clients all across the South Island of New Zealand.

In addition to the above you will:

• Ensure all work is carried out safely to specification and industry best practice.
• Assist your manager/supervisor to plan jobs.
• Deal with changes as they occur on the job and communicate this to your team and client.
• Maximise daily productivity of your team while ensuring a high quality of work.
• Ensure your team adheres to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Were looking for someone with:

• Availability to work away from home and on shift flexibility for the job is essential
• Full Class 4 licence and WTR endorsements (Class 5 advantageous)
• Extensive experience operating machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• The ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment and effectively give instructions.
• A proactive approach to Health and Safety - its our #1 priority
• The ability to motivate the crew to meet production targets (think good time management!)
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• A positive attitude and most importantly a good sense of humour
