A multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer (410 years of experience) to support drainage stormwater management and hydrologic/hydraulic design projects. The role involves working on transportation and municipal projects performing technical design tasks coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers. The position also offers growth toward project management responsibilities within the water resources practice.
Responsibilities
- Design drainage and stormwater management systems in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and watershed analysis.
- Analyze survey data maps and other technical information to support project planning and design.
- Assist with preparation of plans reports specifications and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with contractors consultants government agencies and internal teams.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and assist during the construction phase when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET accredited).
- 410 years of water resources engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience with drainage stormwater management and erosion & sediment control design.
- Hydrologic modeling experience using TR-55 TR-20 and Rational Method.
- Hydraulic modeling experience with HEC-RAS HY-8 HydroCAD or similar tools.
- Proficiency with MicroStation OpenRoads Designer PCSWMM and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
