Johnson & Johnson is recruiting a Business Unite Leader Director. This position will support the Ethicon sites in Manati PR and San Lorenzo PR.

Learn more at Business Unit Leader will be responsible for leading manufacturing maintenance projects and base business engineering personnel within the Ethicon WCH manufacturing operations in Puerto Rico. The main responsibility is to optimize supply chain performance consistently meet customer expectations and manage the manufacturing operations and projects for Ethicon Wound Closure and Healing.

With expertise in manufacturing operations coordinate cross-functional resources required for four key areas:
Growth for Customers:Deliver supply reliability through Product Value Stream Management and End-to-End process improvements while ensuring proactive approach to quality safety and compliance.
Excellence in Execution: Reduce complexity and drive significant improvement in the predictable reliable supply of quality products that meet / exceed customer expectations.

Lead the WCH manufacturing maintenance projects and base business engineering operations and activities in both San Lorenzo and Manati sites.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve all operational goals including but not limited to safety quality service cost and people leadership goals.
Identify and implement both short and long-term projects to optimize the local supply chain product and process quality and to improve operational efficiencies.
Effectively manage and resource human material and capital resources to meet quality customer service financial EH&S and product and process improvement targets.
Ensure close collaboration with Quality Operations so that the Quality System is regularly audited/ reviewed and that appropriate preventive and corrective actions are identified and implemented to improve quality results.
Develop and implement a talent strategy that ensures a diverse equitable and inclusive environment and ensures development opportunities are provided for all employees.
Provides a leadership role in the development and implementation of Process Excellence and Six Sigma standards.
Identifies needs and coordinate the development of support systems i.e. Documentation Q.A. Systems.
Ensures sufficient manufacturing materials equipment and personnel.
Provides variance analysis and corrective actions.
Manages a customer driven quality plant that ensures regulatory compliance to ISO and GMP requirements.
Responsible for all salary administration issues and all personnel related matters. Reviews and recommends change to current policies and procedures for applicability to present business plans.
Provides and establishes leadership climate for operations within business unit towards continue quality improvements and compliance with regulatory requirements as they apply to all business aspects.
Makes decisions based on understanding of multiple departments and their interrelationships.
Fosters relations with all applicable development group/effort to actively influence design and assembly criteria.
Manages operation to ensure achievement of CIP and OGSM initiatives.
Manages motivates and develops subordinates to achieve their full potential.
Responsible for developing and guiding all associates within their organization including hourly associates and supervisors.
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
For those who supervise or manage a staff responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition if applicable.
Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal State local and Company regulations policies and procedures.
Performs other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required Bachelors in Engineering or Science is preferred. Masters degree desirable.
A minimum 10 years of experience in a Supply Chain environment and a proven leadership track record in at least 2 years of the following functional areas: manufacturing engineering planning distribution and/or quality is required.
Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience is required.
Ability to travel between the Manati site and San Lorenzo site is required.
Ability to drive innovation prioritize and collaborate in a heavily matrixed environment.
Ability to influence and gain cross-functional support to deliver strategy.
Bilingual English and Spanish.
Understanding of manufacturing shop floor and related computer systems.
Strong analytical problem solving and interpersonal skills ability.
