Job Summary
Overview
Construction Labourers are responsible for performing a wide range of physical tasks on construction sites to support project progress and ensure safe efficient work environments. This role plays a key part in preparing and maintaining job sites assisting skilled tradespeople handling materials and following safety procedures to help complete residential commercial and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Site Preparation & Construction Support
- Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris setting up barriers and organising work areas.
- Dig trenches level ground and support basic site layout operations as directed by supervisors.
Material Handling
- Load unload and transport construction materials tools and equipment safely.
- Stack and distribute building supplies to work areas as needed.
Manual Labour Tasks
- Perform general manual labour such as lifting carrying and moving materials.
- Assist with concrete work mixing spreading and basic finishing tasks.
Equipment & Tool Support
- Operate hand tools and where trained basic power tools and machinery.
- Maintain tools and equipment reporting any issues to supervisors.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report hazards unsafe conditions or incidents to management promptly.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with other labourers crew members and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently.
- Follow verbal and written instructions from the construction foreman or site superintendent.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in construction general labour or similar field is an asset but not always required.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift carry and move heavy materials and perform physically demanding work.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Required / Preferred Certifications
