The Role
We are looking for a hardworking Digital Asset Engineer with a strong focus on supporting emerging applications from the Blockchain Incubator Team. The Blockchain Incubator Team currently develops and support financial applications leveraging technologies like Bitcoin Ethereum and other leading public or private blockchain engineering and support role you would be responsible for working across the incubator and learning the current applications in production or soon to be. You will also work closely the business team who helped drive the use cases that were implemented and more importantly why they were developed. The split for the work is projected to be 50% digital asset application support and 50% digital asset engineering. This is a unique role that will provide great insight into where we currently are and most importantly where the group is going in the next few years.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring (The order of these bullets does not matter)
A degree in Computer Science / Mathematics or equivalent work experience
Have practical experience developing on public blockchain platforms such as Bitcoin or Ethereum and/or experience with private blockchain platforms
Experience working with cryptographic protocols
Contributions to open source projects (especially Blockchain-related ones)
Experience with JavaScript Java Python Rust and Go
Understanding of the cryptographic principles underpinning of Bitcoin or Ethereum
Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Have a passion for application support and stability
Have a passion for blockchain development
Have an adversarial approach: be just as good at breaking code as creating it
Experience of working with design thinking techniques in iterative sprints (Agile)
Have a collaborative mind set and enjoy sharing knowledge with other developers
Nice to have:
Knowledge or experience with technologies using state/payment channels or Sidechains
Experience with private blockchain projects (permissioned distributed ledgers)
Previous academic publication experience
A degree in cryptography or experience implementing cryptographic software
Proven experience with standards bodies around software and internet governance
