Job Summary

Symbos is seeking a detailfocused Accounting Assistant to support our Finance team across accounts receivable accounts payable revenue and claims processing and payroll preparation.

About the role

Reporting into the Finance team you will provide accurate and timely accounting and financial administration support. You will help maintain highquality financial records reconcile transactions across systems and respond to internal and external stakeholder queries supporting compliant efficient and auditready finance operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide daytoday accounting and financial administration support across finance and operational systems
  • Support accounts receivable activities including invoicing receipt allocation account monitoring and followup of outstanding accounts
  • Assist with revenue and payment claim processing linked to service delivery identifying and escalating discrepancies as required
  • Support accounts payable processing including supplier invoice entry maintenance of supplier records and preparation of payments for approval
  • Use Xero for transaction processing reconciliations and maintenance of accurate financial records
  • Provide payroll administration support including timesheet review and payroll preparation activities
  • Assist with reconciliations across systems and support investigation and resolution of discrepancies
  • Prepare routine financial and operational reports in line with agreed schedules
  • Maintain organised accurate and auditable finance records while handling confidential information securely
  • Respond to supplier customer plan manager and internal stakeholder queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and provide general administrative support to the Finance team as needed

About you

You bring a solid foundation in accounting or finance administration and are comfortable working with detailed information in a structured environment. You are organised reliable and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant Finance Administrator Bookkeeper or similar role
  • Handson experience using Xero for accounts processing and reconciliations
  • Experience supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to process high volumes of transactions accurately
  • Welldeveloped organisation and time management skills
  • Confident and professional communication skills with a customerservice approach
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
  • Ability to work across multiple systems including accounting payroll and reporting platforms

Desirable:

  • Payroll administration support experience including timesheet review and payroll preparation
  • Exposure to disability services NDIS aged care or similar sectors
  • Understanding of Awards and conditions including the SCHADS Award
  • Experience using MYOB Acumatica or service delivery and rostering systems
  • Experience supporting finance teams within medium to large organisations
