Role Overview

This business has a storied history in both the Australian and UK markets with a track record of success across the Property Owner and Building Trades sectors. With head office based in Sydney they have been investing in infrastructure to support the next phase of business growth.

An opportunity has now arisen for a proven Senior Underwriter to elevate and develop a portfolio focused on Construction in the Australian market.

Responsibilities

An initial focus on broker relationships and renewal business to ensure continued stability and then look toward new business quotes
Developing the brand with Mid Market and International Brokers using a variety of distribution tools to ensure market coverage
As a senior in the team you will assist those around you including Underwriters and Assistants supporting their professional development and exposing them to broker relationships and risk selection
Managing the portfolio long-term to ensure balance and maintain profitability
Collaborate with fellow specialists within Engineering Property and Long-Tail classes to provide full market coverage

Candidate Profile

You will be a proven Construction Underwriting professional with some experience of mentoring staff.

You will possess:

Track record of underwriting within Contract Works specifically
Strong networks across both Corporate and Mid-Market Brokers
A robust underwriting process for risk selection
Advanced knowledge of Product & Portfolio Management
Demonstrated stability within roles
