TITLE: SUBSTITUTE BUS MONITOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or verifiable G.E.D.
Minimum of three years experience or related knowledge necessary to periorm the duties of thisposition.
First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
Knowledge of MIPS desirable.
Must be able to perform physical activities including but not limited to lifting moving orcarrying (up to 50 lbs. unassisted) bending standing climbing or walking.
REPORTS TO:Transportation Director
JOB GOAL:To work with the school bus driver in the safe transportation of students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures students are belted and secured in their proper placement on the bus.
2. Checks condition of all wheel chair straps and knows how to properly secure a wheel chair inbus.
3. Provides visual scan for all students on the bus and sits in the area of students who aremedically fragile.
4. Provides support to children in following appropriate behavior on the bus using positivebehavioral supports.
5. Assists students on/off bus always escorts students across street.
6. Works with special education teachers to provide interventions when needed.
7. Ensures student safety during emergency evacuation procedures.
8. Pertorms work in a safe and orderly manner while maintaining a neat and clean work area.
9. Maintains a written plan of action and transportation medical card for each students medicalconcerns.
10. All other duties as may be assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Nine-month year. Hourly rate and workdays to be established by the Board approved schedules.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards
policy on Evaluation of Support Staff.
