The Work

Reporting to theDirectorModel Development theRiskModel Development Internwillbe responsible forsupportingmodel developmentfor AIRB and IFRS 9 as well as streamlining and automating model developmentprocesses.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitativemodellingandprograming skills in Pythona demonstrated ability to developcredit models that meet businessobjectives a critical thought process and a solutions-based approach to problem-solving.

Model development (45%)

  • Support model developmentactivities forAIRB IFRS 9 and ICAAP
  • Participate indata profilinganddata quality analysisfor model development.
  • Research statistical modelling techniquesand evaluationapplications for specific models and their limitations.
  • Supportmodel development documentation.

Streamline and automate MD processes (55%)

  • Identifyopportunities in model development processes where streamlining isfeasibleand possibleto improve productivity.
  • Identifyopportunitiesto automate components in model developmentwherefeasibleand possibleto improve.
  • Prepare proposals andexecutionplans foridentifyopportunities.
  • Executeplans.

Lets Talk About You!

  • University student (Mastersor PhD) with a focus ona quantitative discipline (Applied Mathematics or Statistics Engineering Computer Science) but also open to senior year undergraduate students who are still going to be active students.
  • Comfortableprograming inPython.Experience working withbigdata setsbuilding models.
  • High attention to detail ability to review and recommend actions to solvemodelingproblems.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly (verbally and written) tailoring presentations to the audience.
  • Strong organization timemanagementand multi-tasking skills; managing multiple deadlines at one time.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect organize analyze anddisseminatesignificant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Yourea self-starter and driven to are motivated byaccomplishingyour goals and delivering your best to make an impact.

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Banks additional office space located at 2200-25 Ontario Street Toronto ON.
