Job Summary

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast affordable broadband to a wide range of customers including consumers businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

Key job responsibilities
- Can apply a deep understanding of a broad range of tools equipment and handling machinery to accomplish your daily tasks effectively and efficiently
- Upholds all safety requirements in all zones and work locations of responsibility
- Supports team members in flight hardware processing in work zones
- Execute assigned work to meet production schedules
- Support Integration and test of the Leo satellite and various complex sub-assemblies in a clean-room and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment
- Rigging and critical lifts of bulky sensitive flight hardware
- Able to obtain and maintain licenses operator permits and/or certifications as required
- Use precision calibrated tools torque wrenches multi-meters optical inspection devices micrometers and calipers
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Perform work according to procedures specifications and test instructions
- Support functional and environmental testing on units including some basic troubleshooting operations
- Use computer software programs for controlling tests
- Check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities including continuous improvement opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure an efficient safe and effective work environment
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as required
- Shift schedule will vary depending on production/launch schedules
- Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually either domestically or internationally as business needs demand

Export Control Requirements:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

A day in the life
The Processing Technician will work to complete tasks and ensure procedures are adhered to and work is completed during quality and operations on flight hardware integration processes. This position requires skill and experience in a variety of areas including mechanical assembly rigging electrical checkouts and satellite short you will be supporting tasks to process & integrate the Leo satellite for launch ensuring high quality workmanship and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis.

- High school diploma GED or equivalent experience
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport & must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks
- Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude in hardware assembly test and/or installation

- Experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly test and/or installation
- Experience in aerospace automotive aviation military or other high-reliability operating environments
- Experience in a fast-paced processing environment
- Experience working with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) ESD sensitive hardware and in a clean room
- Experience with forklifts cranes rigging and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
- A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
- Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted

The starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
