Summary of Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Access Manager the Appointment Business Center LPN will navigate and perform patient scheduling referral management of internal and external patient referrals and will triage complex scheduling request in electronic health record systems. The LPN will work closely with Endoscopy Service Line clinics and providers to appropriately schedule new and returning patients from internal or external provider referrals.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School GED or formal educational equivalent.
• Graduate of accredited LPN nursing program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of Practical Nursing experience;
• Valid Practical Nursing License

• Basic computer skills.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong work ethics and accountability

Additional Information:

Job Requirements:

• The LPN will be responsible for reviewing and requesting clinical documentation as appropriate.
• Will be required to identify differentiate or rule out non-urgent/urgent non-acute/acute emergent life-threatening symptoms in order to provide safe and timely disposition of referrals.
• Responds to patient inquiries prioritizes responses and routes urgent situations to an appropriate provider.
• Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation and follows patient privacy in accordance with HIPPA and UAMS policies and procedures.
• Performs to the level of a licensed practical nurse as dictated by the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and UAMS.
• The LPN will utilize decision making software and the application of a variety of procedures policies and/or precedents relating to both the standards and procedures of the nursing profession and those established by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
