Job Summary:
The Receiving Clerk I is responsible for supporting basic receiving inspection documentation and movement of incoming materials supplies and products. This entry-level role assists with ensuring inbound shipments are accurately received documented and stored while maintaining company standards for safety organization and inventory control.
The Receiving Clerk I works under the guidance of the Receiving Clerk II supervisor or logistics lead and assists with daily receiving operations and material handling tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving & Inspection
- Assist with receiving and unloading incoming shipments.
- Compare packing slips and purchase orders with received materials for accuracy.
- Check shipments for visible damage and report issues to the Receiving Clerk II or supervisor.
- Help stage materials in the receiving area for processing and inspection.
Documentation & System Entry
- Assist with entering received materials into the inventory or ERP system.
- Apply labels tags or barcodes to materials following company procedures.
- Maintain basic receiving documentation and support recordkeeping requirements.
Inventory Handling
- Transport materials to designated storage or staging areas.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of receiving and storage areas.
- Assist with cycle counts and basic inventory checks when requested.
Communication & Coordination
- Communicate shipment issues or discrepancies to the Receiving Clerk II or supervisor.
- Coordinate with warehouse or stockroom staff to ensure materials are properly stored.
- Support other warehouse shipping or logistics team members as needed.
Equipment & Safety
- Follow all company safety procedures PPE requirements and warehouse guidelines.
- Safely use basic material-handling equipment when trained.
- Report unsafe conditions hazards or equipment concerns to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- 01 year of warehouse stockroom or logistics experience (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent bending lifting reaching pulling and carrying materials.
- Ability to lift and move materials according to company guidelines.
- Exposure to warehouse conditions including varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Regular use of basic material-handling equipment.
