Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures.
Experience: Previous experience in oncology infusion nursing preferred.
Additional Job Description
Education:Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
Licenses/Certification:Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state is required. ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification must be obtained if not already certified. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
