Job Summary

Summary:

Project Schedulers are essential to project success handling administrative tasks for the project manager and team to keep projects running smoothly. Key member of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and project teams. Primary responsibility is for planning and monitoring project schedule and schedule performance. They inform related financial analyses and WBS to support the strategic planning budgeting and forecasting of project completion for projects by providing critical information and insight to Project Controllers Project Managers and EPMO leadership.

Supervision:

Individual Contributor without authority to manage other employees.

Moderately complex requiring some work experience and performs non-routine work.

Moderate level of discretion in daily work recommending new or revised policies procedures and standard practices; investigates and recommends action to supervisor before making decisions.

Moderate supervision with non-routine work check frequently and routine work checked periodically.

Principal Accountabilities:

Creates and updates detailed project schedules using industry standard tools.

Defines activity sequences durations dependencies and milestones in collaboration with project teams.

Analyzes schedules and reports out at project meetings and to department leaders by:

  • Performing critical path analysis and identifying schedule risks or constraints.
  • Generating regular schedule performance reports including variance and forecasts.
  • Providing what-if scenarios to support decision-making and recovery planning.

Coordinates with project managers controllers and other project members to ensure consistency across the portfolio; Maintains integrated master schedules for multi-project visibility; and aligns schedules with resource plans cost forecasts and overall project baselines.

Ensures adherence to project management office scheduling standards templates and best practices

Supports project audits and contributes to continuous improvement of scheduling processes.

Perform other duties as assigned. Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.

Working Conditions:

  • Works primarily in an office environment.
  • Work is sedentary in nature and involves sitting most of the time.
  • May be required to travel to and from various offices and/or work sites.
  • Requires constant operation of a computer and other office tools that require grasping and/or repetitive motions.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university in Project Management Business or related field.
  • Requires three (3) plus years of relevant experience in project coordination scheduling or related skills.
  • Project management related certification required within one year of hire.
  • Proficient user of project management software/scheduling software. Specific experience with P6/OPC preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management principles including critical path method and earned value concepts preferred.
  • Ability to effectively plan work activities schedules priorities and utilization of resources.
  • Effective and flexible communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize job responsibilities and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across multiple departments with key stakeholders.
