about the position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environment Engineer to join the Project Engineer team. Reporting to the Manager this role will be based in Chevrons office in Bengaluru.
The Senior Environment Engineer Remediation provides technical expertise to support environmental investigation remediation and site closure activities across Asset Retirement Downstream and legacy sites. The role leads and supports site characterization efforts including soil groundwater and soil vapor assessments and develops Conceptual Site Models to inform remediation strategy selection. This position is responsible for technically evaluating and justifying appropriate remediation approaches for petroleum impacted sites preparing and reviewing remedial action and corrective action plans and providing technical oversight during intrusive works and decommissioning activities where contaminated media are encountered. The Senior Environment Engineer interprets field and laboratory data to assess remediation performance residual risk and progress toward regulatory closure and prepares or reviews technical documentation for regulatory submission.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key responsibilities
Consultant Oversight:
Oversee consultant performance ensuring work is executed safely efficiently and in compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Verify work quality adherence to timelines proper documentation reporting and closeout of all aspects of the project.
Site Assessment & Remediation Leadership:
Lead environmental initiatives at Asset Retirement sites focusing on site assessments remediation activities and continuous improvement of environmental outcomes
Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners (regulators consultants) and internal stakeholders (site teams leadership) facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
Project Controls:
Develop and manage project schedules for environmental activities coordinate with external consultants and internal teams and maintain alignment with project milestones. Assess schedule impacts of scope changes and update plans accordingly.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all site activities comply with applicable environmental regulations company policies and best practices. Support audits reporting and incident investigations as needed.
Data & Reporting Collaboration:
Work closely with data and reporting technologists to ensure accurate tracking of site metrics remediation progress reporting (external & internal) and closeout deliverables. Support the development and/or improvement of dashboards and reporting tools for real-time insights and performance monitoring.
Continuous Improvement:
Collect and utilize lessons learned and site data to drive improvements in environmental management practices reporting workflows and project execution.

To be considered for this role applicants should have:
Education:
bachelors degree in environmental or civil engineering or related field from a recognized institution.
Experience:
6 years of experience in site assessment and remediation regulatory compliance preferably within the oil & gas or industrial sector. Proven experience as a technical manager managing multi-disciplinary teams.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations remediation technologies and project controls. Experience with data management and reporting systems is highly desirable.
Analytical & Problem-Solving:
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to recognize and resolve issues impacting environmental outcomes.
Collaboration & Communication:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams and with diverse stakeholders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
