Job Summary

About the role:

This positionâis responsible forâleading the strategic planningâexecutionâand continuous evolution of technology initiatives of the United Way Alberta Capital Region.âThis role involves championing digital transformation efforts integratingâemergingâtechnologies overseeing design and implementation toâoptimizeâtechnology solutions that will empower our teams and enhance service delivery.âThe Director oversees theâdayâto dayâoperation ofâtechnologyâandâinnovationâinâtheâdevelopmentâand transformation of enterprise data strategyâgovernanceâand management practicesâto drive improvements to systems processes and capabilitiesâcreating aâdata informed and insight driven organization.ââThe role requires strongâbusiness acumenâleadership skills strategic thinking and the ability toâunderstand business requirements as well asâfoster crossâfunctionalâinnovation.â

The Dayto Day:

Enterprise Systems and Integration Managementâ

  • Direct the design implementation administration and ongoing optimization of enterprise systems and infrastructureincluding enterprise applications data repositories network environments and serversensuring secure scalable and reliable operations withâhigh levelsâof system availability performance and compliance with established architecture security and technology standards.â
  • Serve as the product owner of our Salesforce (CRM) defining and managing priorities and outcomes to ensure both day-to-day functionality and continuous improvementâ
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of emerging technologiesincluding agentic AI AIOps and autonomous systemsinto operational workflows ensuring alignment with organizational values risk frameworks and strategic goals.â

Data Strategy and Governanceâ

  • Lead further development and transformation of enterprise data strategy governance and management practices strengthening the organizations ability to collect manage and use data effectively to support operational performance decision-making and strategic planning.â
  • Leadâinformationâprivacy and complianceâthoughtâtheâinformationâmanagement frameworkâto ensure compliance with privacy requirements and internal governance.â
  • Drive standards for how teams communicate collaborate and store content acrossâM365 andâtoâimprove findability and reduce risk.â
  • Oversee the data management and analytics team in advancing modern data practicesincluding data quality integration reporting and analyticsdriving improvements to systems processes and capabilities that enable a more data-informed and insight-driven organization.â
  • Consults and liaises with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve challenges related to cross-functional data and information work.â Assesses issues makes recommendations and supports solution development by providingâadditionalâtraining developing newâprocessesâand rolling them out to the organization leading requirements gathering sessions assigning research and development projects etc.â

Technology Operations Security and Vendor Managementâ

  • Oversee day-to-day technology operations including management of third-party service providers and vendors ensuring reliable delivery of IT services adherence to service level agreements and alignment with organizational technology standards.â
  • Establish andâmaintainâcybersecurity and access management practices including user access reviews security monitoring and implementation of policies and controls that safeguard organizational systems data and digital assets.â
  • Develop andâmaintainâoperational IT policies procedures and controls to support secure and efficient use of technology including incident response system maintenance and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.â
  • Ensures that existing technologies are wellâutilized and that staff are trained toâleverageâthe technology improving overall organizational efficiency and effectiveness.âââ

Leadership and Operational Managementâ

  • Provide leadership and direction to the systemsâtechnologyâand data team including setting priorities supporting professional development and fostering a collaborative service-oriented culture that aligns with organizational goals.â
  • Plan manage andâmonitorâdepartmental budgets ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources and alignment of technology investments with strategic and operational priorities.â
  • Establish annual work plans and performanceâobjectivesâfor the teamâmonitoringâprogressâand adjusting priorities to support evolving organizational needs.â
  • Build strong partnerships across the organization to ensure technology and data services effectively support programs operations and strategic initiatives.â
  • Demonstrates strong business leadership skills that drive innovation fosterâcollaborationâand deliver measurable business impact.

Youpossessknowledge of enterprise systems cloud platforms and data management practices including governance security and analytics.âYouareproficientâin Salesforce CRM as a super userâAdminâor product ownerand have experience managing multiple integrations toâmaintainâSalesforce as a central source of are skilledin leading technology and data teams driving performance development and collaborationanddemonstrateprecisionaroundâleveragingâqualitative and quantitative data to drive systems design and level knowledge around Microsoft product stack.

You havethecapabilityto plan implement andâoptimizeâcomplexâtechnologyâinitiatives systems and integrationswith provencompetenceto manage technology vendors and service providers to ensure reliableâcompliant and cost-effective operations.âYour capacityto translate organizational needs into effective technology and data solutionsalignwithour organizationsstrategic priorities.âYou excel at organizing andleveraginginformation people time and resources to achieve results efficientlyalways working within establishedorganizational hierarchyprocesses systems and policies. Your background includes a post-secondary undergraduate degree in BusinessComputer Information Systems InformationTechnologyor related fieldplusfour to sixyears ofsupervisoryexperience.
