About the role:

Powerco is seeking a Network Access Planner to join our team in New Plymouths Network Operations this role you will be responsible for processing planned work requests and preparing switching instructions to ensure safe and secure access to Powercos electricity network. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety network security and operational accuracy of planned work on the network.

As a Network Access Planner you will work closely with our operations team to coordinate and manage outages maintain clear communication with all stakeholders and ensure customer impact notifications are accurate. Your contributions will support Powerco in developing and maintaining the electricity network.

Key Deliverables:

  • Process access requests for planned work on Powercos electrical network.
  • Prepare check and compile switching instructions for planned work.
  • Ensure adherence to Powerco and industry network operating standards policies and procedures.
  • Support real-time operations during CIMS (Coordinated Incident Management System) events.
  • Undertake projects or technical investigations related to network operations.
  • Manage plan and coordinate outages effectively using strong communication skills to navigate obstacles.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years electrical experience (HV experience is an advantage).
  • Knowledge of substation and underground/overhead HV operating systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of protection systems and other substation equipment is desirable.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and legal compliance.
