Job Summary
Were looking for a Senior Financial Controller to join us at Telia.
Im Jonas Baas incoming Head of Corporate Financial Control and Im searching for someone ready to grow with us. What youll do:
The role offers a broad agenda combining hands-on financial control with analytical work and continuous process improvement.
- Financial Reporting & Closing: take a central role in the Group financial closing process ensuring high quality accuracy and transparency of internal and external reporting and coordinate interim and annual reports.
- IFRS Expertise & Advisory: Act as a reliable IFRS expert ensuring correct interpretation application and consistent accounting compliance across the Group. Also prepare IFRS position papers accounting memos and technical assessments for complex transactions and provide IFRS advisory support to various business units and other finance functions .
- Accounting Policies & Controls: Contribute to maintenance and development of Group accounting policies and manuals ensuring alignment across entities and functions.
- Audit & Stakeholder Management: Serve as key liaison with external auditors on group level and collaborate closely with Finance and business stakeholders sharing expertise and contributing to strategic and cross-functional initiatives.
- Process Improvement & Transformation: Contribute to finance transformation projects including process optimization and reporting enhancements.
What will help you thrive in this role:
We think you are an experienced finance professional with strong accounting and financial reporting expertise solid IFRS knowledge and a deep understanding of how the financial statements interact. You are structured analytical and calm under pressure with the ability to manage complexity while maintaining high quality and control. You take a proactive solutionoriented approach and are motivated by driving improvements in financial reporting processes and internal controls. With strong communication skills and several years of experience in accounting and/or auditing you collaborate effectively across functions and independently drive initiatives that create value at Group level.
- Strong expertise in group accounting consolidation and IFRS with a passion for delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting. Previous experience from Big4 is a merit.
- Hands-on mindset with a deep first-hand understanding of the numbers to ensure the highest quality accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
- Deep understanding of internal controls and the ability to maintain a robust compliance-focused control environment.
- Track record of improving and streamlining financial processes combining structure with innovation.
- Excellent communicator who builds trust aligns stakeholders and translates complex financial matters into clear insights.
- Proficient in written and spoken Swedish and English.
- Some 8 years relevant experience or equivalent.
