Summary:
The Network Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of wireless network construction projects including vendor coordination site construction management and ensuring projects are completed safely on schedule and within budget.
This role supports projects involving Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) small cells and related fiber infrastructure deployments.
The position requires strong field construction experience and the ability to manage vendors contractors and project stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and influence decisions for program and project managers related to construction activities.
Participate in vendor selection and contractor management.
Attend deployment and customer meetings as a construction subject matter expert.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders and vendors.
Conduct site visits including bid walks pre-construction walks progress inspections punch walks and project closeout.
Provide direction to contractors performing site preparation and construction activities.
Monitor construction costs and negotiate vendor pricing to ensure projects remain within budget.
Identify and resolve construction issues in the field to maintain project timelines.
Ensure all construction activities comply with company standards processes and safety policies.
Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure proper project closeout procedures.
Track project status in project management systems.
Act as a safety and quality assurance representative during site visits.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3 5 years of telecommunications or wireless construction experience
Experience with small cell deployment and construction within public right-of-way (ROW)
Familiarity with node construction and telecom construction drawings
Strong vendor management experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
Technical Knowledge: Outside Plant (OSP) construction methods (aerial and underground)
Fiber installation and telecom infrastructure construction
Testing equipment and techniques including:
RF Sweep testing
OTDR testing
Power meter testing
Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing
Knowledge of NESC NEC and OSHA standards
Education & Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license required
Ability to travel to local field sites regularly
Additional Details: Fully remote role with frequent local field visits in the Seattle area
Occasional out-of-state travel (1 2 times per year) for team meetings
