Job Summary

Location: Syracuse NY
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 15 Weeks
Schedule: Must be available to work every other weekend and some holidays
Pay Rate:
Local: $38/hr (Approx. $1207.50/week)
Travel: $45/hr including stipend (Approx. $1552.50/week)
Pay rate may vary based on experience.
Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit. This role involves providing nursing care to patients aged 517 in an acute care psychiatric setting. The LPN will support physicians and registered nurses in delivering quality patient care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and adolescent psychiatric patients
Monitor and document vital signs patient progress and treatment responses
Assist physicians and RNs during examinations and clinical procedures
Prepare patients for medical exams and treatments
Administer medications and injections as directed
Assist with procedures such as phlebotomy IV insertion and EKG application when required
Observe and report behavioral or medical changes in patients
Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Support daily nursing unit operations and maintain clinical areas
Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare team members
Assist with scheduling chart preparation and general administrative tasks when needed
Follow safety infection control and facility policies
Qualifications
Required
Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
At least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience
Experience working with children and adolescents (ages 517)
CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Highly Preferred
Inpatient hospital experience
Phlebotomy experience
IV insertion skills
EKG application experience
Experience using EMR systems
