Job Summary
Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fund Accountant with experience in venture capital or private equity fund accounting who is also comfortable performing hands-on bookkeeping and operational accounting tasks. This role will support the CFO & CEO of a venture capital fund and will involve a mix of fund-level accounting portfolio tracking financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate understands how venture funds operate and is equally comfortable handling technical fund accounting as well as lower-level accounting tasks when needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced investment environment and wants exposure to venture capital fund operations.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate accounting records for venture capital funds and related entities
Track capital calls distributions and investor allocations
Maintain investment schedules and portfolio tracking
Assist with NAV calculations and fund performance reporting
Record and reconcile investment transactions including purchases exits and valuation updates
Support quarterly and annual financial reporting for the fund
Assist with preparation of LP capital account statements
Track investor commitments capital contributions and distributions
Support investor reporting and data requests
Assist with management company and GP entity accounting
Management fee calculations
Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks
Assist with monthly financial close processes
Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
Payroll administration
Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports
Support annual audits and tax preparation
Job requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
4 years of accounting experience
Excellent English
Experience with venture capital private equity or investment fund accounting
Strong Excel skills
Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks NetSuite or similar)
Strong understanding of: Capital calls distributions fund structures (LP/GP entities)
Familiarity with portfolio tracking and investment reporting
Experience supporting CFOs or finance leaders
