Job Summary

Expected hours of work per week: 10-20

Work Location & Hours: Athletic training room; Times vary according to practices and games

Qualifications for Position:

Expected Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist all athletic trainers
  • Clean and organize the training room
  • Complete the daily duties appointed to them
  • Restock the tape
  • Set athletes up on modalities
  • Tape athletes when necessary

Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed

  • Career & Self-Development including - actively seeking learning opportunities and improving on hands-on skills.
  • Communication in the form - interacting with athletes coaches and staff to ensure information is shared effectively.
  • Critical Thinking in the form of - making sound decisions under pressure adapting treatment plans based on athlete needs and problem-solving during rehabilitation.
  • Leadership through - leading by example maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in high-stress situations and educating athletes on injury prevention and recovery techniques.
  • Professionalism by - maintaining confidentiality adhering to ethical guidelines dressing appropriately and demonstrating a composed and respectful demeanor in all interactions
  • Teamwork including - collaborating with coaches athletes and medical staff to ensure optimal athlete health and performance assisting fellow student trainers and contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Technology - using rehabilitation equipment taping and bracing techniques and modalities like ultrasound and electrical stimulation for treatment.
