Job Summary

The Residential Driver will be responsible for safely efficiently and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables on curbside and/or backdoor routes and transporting to post-collection facilities.

The Opportunity

As a Residential ASL Driver you are the face of GFL. Operating a modern fully automated side-loading truck you will navigate curbside routes to provide seamless waste removal for our neighbors. This is a solo-operator role that rewards independence precision and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

Master the Machine: Operate state-of-the-art automated side-loading trucks and hydraulic systems with expert precision.
Own Your Route: Safely collect solid waste or recyclables on assigned residential routes ensuring every customer receives Green Ribbon service.
Safety First: Conduct rigorous pre- and post-trip inspections. At GFL safety isnt a box to checkits our way of life.
Professional Pride: Maintain a clean vehicle and professional demeanor acting as a brand ambassador on the road.
Continuous Improvement: Work closely with supervisors to optimize routing and improve efficiency.

What Youll Bring

The Credentials: A valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and at least 2 years of commercial driving experience (or a CDL school certificate).
The Strength: Ability to lift push or pull up to 50 lbs repetitively and the stamina to handle the physical demands of the road.
The Skills: Excellent spatial awareness (backing up 120 feet in tight spaces) and the ability to recognize unacceptable waste materials.
The Mindset: A self-starter attitude with the flexibility to adapt to changing weather conditions and route needs.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Enjoy the outdoors! Youll be exposed to various weather conditions and the hum of a high-performance fleet.
This role requires sitting approximately 75% of the time while driving with frequent movement for vehicle checks and maintenance.
Visual focus and depth perception are critical for navigating high-traffic residential areas safely.
