About the Opportunity

As a key member of the Financial Control & Tax team the Tax Manager plays a critical role in overseeing all Direct and Indirect Tax matters including transfer pricing compliance and governance. You will provide highquality support to the Head of Tax while ensuring our tax obligations are met accurately efficiently and in line with organisational policies and statutory deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Champion a strong safety culture by working in line with Sandviks EHS Vision policies and standards.
  • Ensure all tax activities are delivered in full compliance with organisational legislative and quality requirements.
  • Support the Head of Tax with accurate and timely Direct and Indirect Tax compliance across all reporting cycles.
  • Contribute to strengthening tax governance by assisting with policy frameworks risk assessments and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with Tax Effect Accounting requirements to meet group and statutory reporting deadlines.
  • Manage local Transfer Pricing obligations including documentation compliance and required testing.
  • Review and approve key tax journal entries ensuring accuracy and alignment with accounting and policy requirements.
  • Conduct tax research and assist in preparing technical papers and supporting documentation.
  • Provide responsive tax advice to business units including reviewing contracts invoices and commercial arrangements.
  • Support tax audits and reviews through data collation analysis and preparation of draft responses.
  • Help identify tax risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Deliver tax guidance and awareness sessions to Country organisations and Business Areas.
  • Stay current with legislative and industry changes assess impacts and support implementation across the organisation.
  • Provide tax input into business projects and transactions to ensure tax considerations are appropriately managed.
  • Assist with preparing tax content for Board and Business Line meetings.
  • Support the development and capability-building of the Tax Team.

About you:

You will bring a strong academic foundation in Commerce Business Finance or Law complemented by completed CA/CPA (or equivalent) postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience as a Tax Manager or Specialist within Australia. With a background gained in multinational Big 4 or midtier environments you apply advanced technical tax expertise with confidenceinterpreting complex legislation preparing clear and wellstructured tax advice and navigating compliance across diverse tax areas. You are an influential and collaborative communicator known for building productive relationships and guiding stakeholders through complex issues. Your analytical strength strategic mindset and high attention to detail enable you to assess risk identify opportunities and deliver highquality outcomes in fastpaced environments. You are skilled in ERP and financial systems proficient across the Microsoft Office suite and bring a professional approach that supports a positive team culture and consistent delivery excellence.
